Kuwait Cabinet Orders 100% Government Workforce Return Starting May 3
Kuwait’s Cabinet, in a meeting held Tuesday and chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, has directed a full return to in-office work across government entities.
The Cabinet instructed the Civil Service Commission to initiate procedures to raise workforce attendance in government agencies to 100 percent.
The decision will take effect on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with employees returning to normal working hours without any reductions. Evening shift operations will also resume under the restored schedule.
The move marks a complete return to standard government operations nationwide.
