Tensions between Iran and Israel have sharply escalated once again, as Iran resumed launching rockets toward Israeli targets, prompting air raid sirens to sound across the northern occupied territories on Monday evening.
According to Iranian state media, Tehran is preparing what it described as “the largest and most violent missile attack in history against Israeli territory.” The reports come amid intensifying regional hostilities and mutual warnings of further military escalation, news agencies reports.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has also issued an urgent call for residents of Tel Aviv to evacuate “as soon as possible,” signaling the possibility of imminent large-scale strikes.
This development follows Israel’s airstrike earlier in the day targeting Iran’s state broadcaster headquarters in Tehran, a move that killed several staff members and marked a symbolic blow to Iranian media and infrastructure. The strike came after Israel had issued evacuation warnings for parts of northern Tehran.
As both sides issue threats and retaliatory attacks, international observers are raising alarms over the potential for the conflict to spiral into a broader regional war. World leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, have urged immediate de-escalation, with Trump warning Tehran that “they should talk — before it’s too late.”
