Indian Mango Festival in Kuwait showcases premium flavors, strengthens India-Kuwait trade ties
India, the world’s largest producer of mangoes, is home to hundreds of varieties cultivated across different regions of the country. Among the most celebrated varieties showcased during the festival were Alphonso, Kesar, Banganapalle (Badami), Dussheri, Langra, Neelum, and Fazli, along with popular hybrid varieties such as Mallika and Amrapali.

The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Government of India, organized the Indian Mango Festival 2026 from June 1 to 11, highlighting the rich diversity and exceptional quality of India’s world-famous mangoes.
The festival featured a series of promotional events and tasting activities aimed at introducing Kuwaiti consumers, retailers, importers, and food enthusiasts to India’s premium mango varieties and strengthening agricultural trade cooperation between India and Kuwait.

The Embassy noted that Indian mangoes are globally renowned for their rich flavour, aroma, nutritional value, and superior quality, making them among the most sought-after fruits in international markets.
As part of the celebrations, the Embassy partnered with leading restaurants in Kuwait, including Mais Alghanim, Asha’s at 360 Mall, restaurants at Hotel St. Regis, and Mughal Mahal branches in Salmiya, Hawally, and Sharq, to host a three-day “Indian Mango Fiesta” from June 1 to 3.
During the fiesta, guests were offered premium Indian mangoes and a range of mango-based dishes and beverages, including mango salads, mango sorbets, mango milkshakes, mango lassi, and other specialty recipes. The events drew strong public participation and positive feedback from visitors.
The grand finale of the festival was held on June 11 at The Avenues Mall, where the Embassy organized a Mango Tasting Day featuring a dedicated booth displaying prominent Indian mango varieties.
The festival was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, who highlighted the growing popularity of Indian agricultural products in Kuwait and the importance of strengthening food and agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
Visitors at The Avenues sampled popular varieties such as Alphonso, Kesar, and Banganapalle mangoes, along with mango-inspired refreshments including mango ice cream, mango mojito, and mango lassi.
The Embassy stated that the Indian Mango Festival 2026 underscored the growing importance of food security and agricultural collaboration between India and Kuwait, while also reflecting increasing demand in Kuwait for premium-quality Indian produce.
