Bulgarian envoy bids farewell after completion of his tenure
. . . praises Kuwait as a lasting chapter in his diplomatic journey

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Kuwait, H.E. Dimitar Dimitrov, has expressed deep appreciation for his years of service in the country, affirming that Kuwait will always remain close to his heart, describing his diplomatic tenure as one of the most meaningful stages of his professional and personal life.
He made the remarks during a farewell reception marking the completion of his diplomatic mission in Kuwait, attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mishaal, a large number of accredited ambassadors and diplomats, as well as members of the public.

Dimitrov noted that his relationship with Kuwait predates his ambassadorship, recalling his earlier service at the Bulgarian Embassy in Kuwait between 2012 and 2016, when he held the positions of counsellor and consul. He later returned to Kuwait in 2021 as ambassador, continuing to build on long-standing ties with the country.
The ambassador highlighted the historical depth of Kuwaiti-Bulgarian relations, which span several decades, expressing optimism about further strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, culture, and tourism. He also voiced hope for the resumption of direct flights between Kuwait and Bulgaria in the near future, which he said would further enhance people-to-people and economic ties.

Dimitrov praised the role of Kuwaiti media in supporting diplomatic missions, noting that Kuwait offers ambassadors a welcoming environment and ample opportunities to engage with society and present their countries in a positive and open manner.
Concluding his remarks, the ambassador reflected on his years in Kuwait as a period rich in professional achievements and genuine human connections, stating that the country had left a lasting emotional impact on him. “Kuwait will always remain in my heart wherever I go,” he said, underscoring the strong personal bond he has formed with the nation and its people.
