New evidence points to a September 19 release date for Apple's next-generation iPhone, which is likely to be called iPhone 6.
A Weibo user in China has posted an image featuring a promotional flyer of the iPhone 6. While the text is in Chinese, the flyer features two variants of iPhone - the 4.7-inch version and the 5.5-inch version, in line with previous leaks. The flyer suggests a September 19 release date for the two phones and quotes the 4.7-inch iPhone's price at RMB5288(Rs 51,200 approximately) and the 5.5-inch iPhone's price at RMB6288(Rs 60,900 approximately).
The images are similar to the ones seen in previous leaks featuring a thinner form factor, rounded edges and full metal casing.
It is hard to verify the authenticity of the flyer but it's worth pointing out that German carrier Deutsche Telekom had also reportedly given September 19 as the launch date for iPhone 6 in a communication to its customer representatives. The date also falls on a Friday, which is traditionally Apple's day of choice for starting the sale of a new iPhone.
There's also been a wave of conflicting reports including some based on analyst predictions, suggesting that the 5.5-inch model of the iPhone would be delayed till next year owing to component yield issues.
Other rumoured features of the next-generation iPhone include health-centred apps, 13MP camera, solar charging, scratch-resistant sapphire screen and faster Wi-Fi.
