Ministry of State for Youth Affairs is keen on developing tools to improve its human resources and draw up new strategies to enable youth to reach their full potentials, the Ministry's Undersecretary Sheikha Al-Zain Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah stressed Friday.
Sheikha Al-Zain made this remark to the press on the fringes of an ongoing GCC conference on youth. She said that the Ministry is keen on encouraging the youth to think out of the box to allow for more room for expanding their train of thoughts to adopt more creative and innovative ideas, hence comes the title of the conference "Youth Spaces ... Opportunities and Potentials."
Allowing younger people to expand and stretch out their potentials and capabilities is the country's real investment, especially since 72 percent Kuwait's population consists of young people.
The Ministry of Youth itself is budding due to the aspirations and innovations of its staff who are under 30 years of age.
On his part, Director of voluntary work at the Ministry Dr. Fuad Bushehri touched on volunteerism in the country, pointing out that having a whole department dedicated to voluntary work is "exceptional." However, what is more impressive is to turn such humanitarian activities into development projects that generate more benefit to the country.
The rise of volunteerism in the country encouraged the Ministry to seek cooperation with the Ministry of Education through establishing clubs specialized in voluntary work to induce a sense of social responsibility in younger generations.
