Official sources at the Manpower Public Authority (MPA) said that issue of work permits will be discussed during the Authority’s board meeting due to be held on the return of Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Planning Hind Al-Subaih and MPA Chairman Jamal Al-Doussary from an official mission abroad.

The sources added that since the assessment department has been linked to all other departments concerned with bringing expatriate labor, MPA’s board would be ready to deal with any decisions concerning the mechanism of issuing work permits.

“Companies will be allowed to bring a maximum of 20 percent of their estimated needed labor,” the sources said, pointing out that 100,000- 200,000 laborers would be annually brought to Kuwait according to certain quotas to be determined by MPA once work permits are resumed before the national holidays.
