Indonesian Premier League player sustains internal injuries after clash with goalkeeper
A footballer died after suffering internal injuries from a horror challenge in an Indonesian Premier League match.
Akli Fairuz, a striker for Persiraja, was hurt as he raced to get the ball ahead of PSAP Sigli goalkeeper Agus Rahman, the Daily Mail reported.
The goalkeeper jumped into the air and caught Fairuz on the body with his boot. The injured man left the field and watched the rest of the game from the sidelines, but later died in hospital.
