VIVA, Kuwait’s fastest-growing and most developed telecom operator, concluded its successful sponsorship of the Al Farsi Kite festival that was held from February 24-28 in celebration of Kuwait’s National and Liberation Days.

The event was attended by Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Kuwaiti Voluntary Work Center, and Head of the Al Farsi Kite Team, Mr. Abdurahman Sheikhan Al Farsi, along with members of the volunteering team. Many European groups took part in the distinguished kite festival with large crowds attending the event including volunteering organizations.

Close to 100 kites adorned Kuwait skies to celebrate the country’s national days while members of Kuwait Science Club’s flying volunteer team displayed an air show above the festival grounds, holding the Kuwaiti flags.

The event was also attended by members of the public who enjoyed a day filled with fun activities and music and national anthems played by Kuwaiti bands creating an exciting ambiance amongst the crowds.

VIVA’s sponsorship of this event is a continuation of its strategy focused on supporting youth activities and initiatives.  It also stems from its unwavering belief in the importance of developing the skills of youth, encouraging them to be productive while instilling in them the sense of patriotism.

This can be achieved by joining volunteer teams, bringing to light talented and creative individuals and adopting their ideas.

The Al Farsi Kite festival, a distinguishing and important event celebrating Kuwait’s National Days, seeks to promote the hobby of kite flying and the concept of volunteerism. The event will feature many fun social activities in collaboration with government officials, private sector, and volunteer groups, in addition to groups from eight countries participating in the festival.

VIVA continues to seek unique opportunities that contribute to the welfare of society and serve the best interest of youth as part of its continued corporate social commitment and support to various educational and youth initiatives that benefit the youth as well as the society of Kuwait.
