In a bid to create favorable conditions for the development of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan had signed a degree granting visa-free entry to citizens of seven countries, and simplified procedures for issuing tourist visas to citizens of 39 other states.

According to the decree, from 10 February 2018, citizens of Israel, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey can visit Uzbekistan without visas for the period of 30 days.

Countries whose citizens can travel to Uzbekistan under simplified tourist visa procedures are:

Albania, Andorra, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, UAE, USA and The Vatican

Citizens of these countries now do not have to submit tourist voucher or invitation letter from legal entity or individual to receive visa. Consular offices of Uzbekistan will issue visas for citizens of these countries within two working days, not counting the day of acceptation of documents.

At the same time, starting from 1 July 2018, a system of issuing electronic entry visas for citizens of several countries will also be introduced.

The presidential degree also underlined that members of the crews of aircrafts of foreign airlines, carrying out regular flights to Uzbekistan, will also have the right to visit the country without obtaining visas.
