UN Day celebrations at SIS

 “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights” The above quote by UN was instilled in the young minds who are the pillars of tomorrow.

The program took place in the school auditorium on 24, October 2016. It provided a rare opportunity for the students to gain an insight into the UN and boost their self-efficacy through the quizzing organized by the social studies department of Smart Indian School (SIS).

The quiz was conducted for the students of grades 5, 6 and 7. A preliminary written round was conducted on the previous day and students were shortlisted based on their performance.

Four students from each grade were selected forming four different groups comprising of grades 5, 6 and 7 in each group. Mr. Mahesh Iyer, the Principal shared his personal experience of his contribution to sustainable development not only inspired the students but also stirred their hearts to do little things with care.

The four quizzing rounds: vital organs of UNO, logo identfication, connect it and personality rounds included questions for students offstage as well. The students on dais had to go through the mazes of intuited and mind boggling questions. Jemimah of class 7 said,” the quiz was very competitive and tough”. Hence the participants evolved into a place of avid learners, eager to grow and find the right answers within the quickest time possible.
