Through its development and prosperity in such a short time, the UAE has been able to lead by example and this has reflected positively on strengthening the GCC bloc as a pillar of Arab integration, said First Deputy Premier Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
While attending Independence Day celebrations at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, also Minister of Foreign Affairs, hailed the two countries' bilateral relations, which he said withstood the test of time.
He expressed appreciation of the UAE's reaction, at the national level, to the honouring of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by UN as humanitarian leader.
"Kuwait, this evening, celebrates with its Emirati brothers the jubilant occasion of UAE's 43rd Independence Day," he said.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled congratulated UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and his people on the day.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who was also attending the event, made similar remarks.
