Two Saudis perished in a fatal accident on the Salmi Road when their vehicle ran out of control, overturned and went ablaze, killing both occupants of the car Sunday morning. When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior was informed of the accident, Highway Patrolmen and firefighters rushed to the spot and removed the victims from the car wreckage and rushed to the hospital in air ambulance.
However, one of them reportedly died of heart attack and the other of internal bleeding. The car was totally destroyed by the fire and as a result of the accident, the cause of which is not known.
Meanwhile, police have arrested an unidentified Canadian citizen for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the arrest came when police rushed to Salmiya to investigate a four-vehicle collision. They found one of the motorists (the Canadian) under the influence of alcohol. He has been referred to the Salmiya Police Station.
