Turkish Republic Day commemorated with reception

Turkish Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak hosted a reception to mark the 95th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, at the Sheraton Coral Ballroom on 29 October. The guest of honor was Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Naser Al Jabri, who was accompanied by trade Minister Khaled Al Roudan.
 
In his speech to the gathering, Minister Al Jabri lauded the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between Kuwait and Turkey, and highlighted the remarkable progress witnessed in various fields between the two countries. He expressed his best wishes for Turkey and the Turkish people led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and hoped for further progress and prosperity.
 
He recalled the visit of President Erdogan to Kuwait last November and the meeting with H.H. the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, wherein the President presented H.H. the Amir with the Turkish State Medal, the highest award granted to another public figure, which emphasizes the depth of relations between the two countries.
 
As for the role of Turkey in the region, Minister AI-Jabri pointed out that the country’s presence was effective and positive, and hoped for the further progress and enhancement of relations between Kuwait and Turkey in all fields. On her part, Turkish Ambassador Ayşe Koytak reiterated that Kuwait and Turkey share deep-rooted and excellent relations in various domains. She attributed the positive relations due to the efforts by the leadership of both countries. She added that Turkey has witnessed many successes in the last 95 years through which the country became a modern, developed state. She concluded her speech by reading out a speech delivered by the President Erdogan.
 
On 29 October 1923, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk declared Turkey a republic and the Grand National Assembly elected Atatürk as the first President of the Republic of Turkey. Today, Turkey is a modern developed state with accomplishments in various fields of the economy, including in tourism which centers around its historical sites and its unique culture.
