A Turkish Airlines flight from Houston, Texas, was diverted to Shannon, Ireland, on Sunday after officials discovered a handwritten bomb threat, CNN is reporting.
An aviation source said he understood the diversion was a result of a note with a warning being found on board.
The Boeing 777, which had been headed to Istanbul, touched down without incident and all 209 passengers, plus crew, disembarked safely.
They were moved to a secure part of the airport while officials swept the plane.
"The incident is now the subject of a follow up investigation from an Garda Siochana (Irish police)," the spokesman said.
