Turkish Airlines announces increasing Kuwait-Istanbul flights at Ramadan Ghabkah

Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Turkey and Europe’s best airline, announced an increased frequency of flights to Istanbul from Kuwait to six daily, at the annual Ramadan Ghabkah held in Kuwait City for the global carriers’ local partners during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The celebratory evening, held at The Regency Hotel in Kuwait City, was attended by senior figures including Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuwait, the President of Civil Aviation, senior officials from Kuwait Airways, corporate partners and leading travel agents who were welcomed to an evening of Turkish hospitality by senior representatives from Turkish Airlines. 

Sami Aydogan, General Manager for Turkish Airlines in Kuwait, said: “We are honoured to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan in the true spirit of camaraderie with our partners, colleagues and friends in Kuwait. Istanbul, famed for its cultural and historical charm, continues to be one of the most preferred holiday destinations for travellers from the Gulf. To meet the growing demand, especially from Kuwait, we are increasing our flights from Kuwait”.

Aydogan thanked Dr. Tarek Al-Kazemi, Turkish Airlines agent in Kuwait, for his continuous support.

The Ramadan Ghabkah highlighted the wonders of Turkish and Kuwaiti heritage with traditional entertainment including the ‘Heaven’ dances, with performers dressed in famed outfits. The artistic Kuwaiti heritage was presented in the ‘Arda sword dance’, which showcased a wonderful synergy in heritage between the two cultures.

Throughout the evening traditional Turkish Ramadan beverages were offered and guests enjoyed the traditional Turkish entertainment that underlined Istanbul’s cultural heritage, and the magical charm of Ramadan in Istanbul, which attracts a large number of Kuwaiti tourists. Guests also had the opportunity to win tickets to fly to the city with Turkish Airlines.
