A recent statistic released by the Public Security Sector of Ministry of Interior Ministry indicates that 1,242 accidents took place in the country within the week from January 17th to January 23rd. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, securitymen issued citations against 147 individuals who parked their vehicles in parking spots allotted for the disabled. A total of 6,424 individuals were detained for deportation at various police stations across the country.
Breakdown of expatriates in detention and ready to be deported back to their countries of origin reveal that 260 men and 224 women are awaiting deportation in the Capital Governorate. In Hawally Governorate, 322 men and 236 women are waiting for deportation, while 611 men and 882 women are awaiting deportation in Ahmadi Governorate.
Those waiting for deportation in Jahra Governorate are 445 men and 380 women, while 838 men and 1,412 women are awaiting deportation in Farwaniya. According to the statistic, offences of the detained expatriates were categorized along with number of involved people.
About 34 expatriates were arrested for criminal offences while 107 committed civil offences, 180 were reported as absconding, 467 violated the residency law, 612 were unable to prove their status, 53 were caught in possession of wanted vehicles, 37 for drug related cases and 17 people were detained for liquor cases.
The officers received 867 reports from various security commands and 1,709 reports through emergency lines. They issued about 1620 citations for miscellaneous violations, seized 174 vehicles and arrested 923 people for destitution and 225 others at security checkpoints.
