Three men died in a huge fire that engulfed two bachelor accommodations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. When the Control Room of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate received information about a house on fire in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, firefighters rushed to the location and called for backup after discovering that the fire had spread to a nearby house. Firefighters from four fire stations extinguished the fire before it spread to the third house. Three charred corpses were retrieved from the site and referred to the Forensics Department.
Acting Deputy General of Firefighting Sector Brigadier Jamal Al-Belaihis, who was at the location to guide the firefighters, revealed that the firefighting teams faced difficulty in parking the fire engines and water tankers. He explained that they were unable to take the vehicles to the location. There were a large number of laborers living in those accommodations where no safety or security conditions were implemented. He urged the concerned authorities to immediately take necessary measures in the area which is badly organized, in order to avoid such tragedies in the future.
