Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Ali Al-Yoha inaugurated the Third Arab Festival for Children's Theater opened at Dasma Theater on Wednesday evening.

The annual event, being held under patronage of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, aims to provide entertainment and culture to children, Al-Yoha said in his inaugural speech. "Theater is a key cultural leverage by NCCAL to build the characters of youngers who are the cornerstone of promising future," he said.

Al-Yoha affirmed the keenness of the various state departments on contributing to cultural events geared to care for children and ensuring their welfare.
The ten-day festival features eight theatrical performances, half of them are local plays and the others will be given by Tunisian, Bahraini, Egyptian and Iraqi troupes, he added.

Back Stage Group will offer 'hekayet Sanfour' play on Dasma Theater on Thursday while the classical for artistic production troupe will offer 'Noor' and 'al-bir Al-mashur' plays on Kaifan Theater on Friday.
