The General Department of Traffic has launched a series of sudden campaigns in the six governorates during a week from 15 till 21 February which led to registering 37,801 traffic violations, seizing 2,237 vehicles, 49 motorcycles and entering 30 persons to the jail as well as implementing 13 service orders.
According to the issued statistics, 7,562 traffic violations were given out in the province of the capital governorate, 369 vehicles were seized and 3 persons were referred to the jail. In Farwaniya governorate, 8,349 violations were given , 333 vehicles were seized and 3 persons were referred to the jail.
In Hawally governorate, 8,848 traffic violations were given out, 409 vehicles were seized and 7 persons were referred to the jail. While in Ahmadi, 520 traffic violations were given out and 76 vehicles were seized.
In Mubarak Al Kabeer, it has been registered 1,674 traffic violations and seized 390 vehicles. In Jahra, 3,421 traffic violations were given and 120 vehicles were seized and one person were referred to jail.
Moreover, the Operations Department of Traffic Department gave out 2,627 traffic violations and seized 152 vehicles and 49 motorcycles in addition to referring 16 persons and 47 wanted vehicles.
Finally, the Security Media Department urged the vehicle drivers to follow the traffic rules and ethics, signage and landlines in order to avoid the violations and protect the road users and public and private property from the effects of the traffic accidents.
