The Sultan Center (TSC) in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Kuwait inaugurated 'The Australian Goodies Festival' at select TSC stores, running from 23 November until 6 December, 2014. Initiated by a ribbon cutting and playing of the Australian National anthem, the opening ceremony was held at TSC’s Salmiya branch in the presence of the Australian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Robert J. Tyson, embassy officials and Makram Malaeb – Group International and Non-Food Commercial Director at TSC, along with members of the management team and the Australian community in Kuwait.

In his speech, the Australian Ambassador stated: “It’s a great pleasure to attend and open this great Australian food exhibition. Australia has a very strong trade relationship with Kuwait totaling more than 1 billion dollars annually. We are very proud to be able to provide the Kuwaiti market, which has very discerning customers, with such a wide range of high quality products, including organic, specialty and innovative foods. TSC has more than a thousand Australian items on its shelves”.

He concluded by thanking The Sultan Center for taking the initiative to hold the festival, and invited all TSC customers to take advantage of it. From TSC’s side, Mr. Makram Malaeb stated: “With its massive green untouched zones, Australia brings the best of agricultural, dairy and meat products; this event is to highlight the vast variety of direct imports we delight our customers with.”

He added: “Our portfolio of exclusive Australian goodies range exceeds 1,000 products today distributed among all categories like Wagyu meat, veal, organic lamb and beef, fruit & vegetables, bakery, dairy products, frozen food, dry food, beverages, confectionary and many more”. TSC has always been committed to provide its customers with the best quality and variety of products, all of which are in line with its vision to support the community in enjoying a healthy lifestyle by eating quality food.  “In line with our focus on healthy living, we’re expanding our range of organic and gluten free products from Australia and other global markets”, Mr. Malaeb commented.

Customers throughout the two week festival can visit TSC Sharq, Hawally, Salmiya and Shaab to experience a true taste of authentic Australian food. They can also take advantage of the special offers and promotions on Australian products which will enable them to enter the draw and win two roundtrip tickets to Australia.
