The sporty and powerful new Tiguan - an SUV that redefines the compact SUV class - is now available in Volkswagen Kuwait. The new model was presented in Kuwait for the first time in the Volkswagen showroom in Al Rai on 27 September at a media event attended by the German Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Karlfried Bergner, Morad Behbehani Group President Ali Morad Behbehani and VIPS.
The new Tiguan is packed with cutting-edge technology and offered in five model configurations - S 1.4L, SE 1.4L, SE 2.0L, SEL 2.0L and Sport 2.0L with 220 HP.
The new model is the first Volkswagen SUV built on the state-of-the-art MQB platform and features new technology, completely unique in the compact class; including Active Info Display, Adaptive Cruise Control and Head-Up Display.
Commenting at the launch of the new Tiguan, Abdullah Ali, General Manager of Volkswagen Kuwait said, “The SUV segment represents 65% of our volume sales. The introduction of the new Tiguan, with its all-new, authentic SUV styling and innovative technology redefines the compact SUV segment and confidently points the way to the future for Volkswagen in Kuwait.”
Andrew Savvas, Brand Director Volkswagen Middle East, said, “The new Tiguan is perfectly thought-out – from its sharp new design to the state-of-the-art technology. The new model is spacious, flexible and appealing to drivers and their families as an ideal companion for their everyday business and personal lives."
“A smart SUV, with sophisticated design and technology, it is the most affordably innovative compact SUV currently available for Middle East and Levant drivers”, he continued.
With passenger comfort and convenience prioritised, the new Tiguan offers optional leather seats with memory function, an additional 145 litres of cargo space and easy open trunk available as an option, in addition to adaptive cruise control, 4MOTION Active Control, front assist and AppConnect.
The numerous technical innovations, combined with its authentic SUV design, make the new Tiguan one of the most attractive SUVs in its segment. Moreover, the new Tiguan offers a wide range of safety features – active bonnet and six airbags as standard, and an additional knee airbag on the driver’s side as an option, and forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking system for adaptive cruise control – underpinning the Tiguan’s benchmark as a leader in safety.
Kuwait will get both power and comfort with three new engines - 150 HP, 180 HP and 220 HP with six and seven-speed dual-clutch gearboxes (DSG) respectively.
