October 4, 2015, 2:36 pm

The Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk, dubbed the world’s largest global and social photography event, has grown immensely in size and popularity since the inaugural walk in 2007. Last year, more than 30,000 photographers of all walks of life and skill level converged to explore their corners of the world through photography and social community.

In Kuwait,  the event was organized by FQ8, with Binu Puliyath and Sheheer Rayams as the Walk Leaders who led the group from Kuwait towers and along the seaside strip up to Applebee’s.  The event happened yesterday, along with other thousands of cities all over the world. More than 80 photographers from different nationalities attended the event.

For the duration of the Walk, the group was engaged in a discussion and activities about Panning shots, Freestyle photography, Playing with lights (blending natural and artificial lights in outdoors) and it ended with blue hour, night shots and night portraits.

Renowned Kuwaiti photographer Majed Sultan Al Zaabi was also present and he shared his experiences and stressed on the importance of these sort of social events.

The event was also backed by Nikon Kuwait.  In addition to the event, there is a competition where the photo walkers can upload their favorite picture to the popular Photo Walk website for a chance to win a digital copy of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby. There will also be a Grand Prize winner and 10 finalists to be selected by Scott Kelby himself.

This year, every photo walker was encouraged to help support this year’s initiative to 'Walk with a Purpose' by donating $1 to the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya.

Additionally, participants can connect socially before, during and after the event using the hashtag #WWPW2015 hash tag on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  Connect with the group on their flickr page at
