December 6, 2017, 4:07 pm

Ambassador of Thailand to Kuwait H.E. Dusit Manapan hosted a reception to mark the National Day of his country at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 5 December. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador H.E. Ali Al-Saeed. Members of the diplomatic corps, Kuwaiti officials, special invitees and media personnel attended the function.

The Thai Ambassador in his welcome address remarked that the occasion also commemorated the birth Anniversary of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who worked tirelessly for the Thai people. He pointed out that Kuwait and Thailand share strong diplomatic ties since relations began between the two countries in 1963.  He lauded the humanitarian activities spearheaded by Kuwait and the country’s generous contribution towards ending the suffering of millions of needy people worldwide.

The ambassador also emphasized the pioneering mediation role played by Kuwait in the interest of preserving international and regional peace.
He thanked Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for supporting the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.

An exhibition of fruit carving and a musical instrument segment were highlights of the entertainment for the evening.
