Kuwait Municipality has declared its intention to offer logistic support to cooperative societies by establishing temporary slaughterhouses in all six governorates prior to Eid Al-Adha, reports Al-Shahed daily. Assistant Director for Ahmadi and Hawally Affairs at Kuwait Municipality and the Head of temporary slaughterhouses committee Fahad Al-Otaibi explained that the establishment of temporary slaughterhouses has been a success in the past years with the cooperation of the cooperative societies.
The problems that were experienced during the previous years will be avoided this year. Ministry of Interior intends to allocate a patrol team at every temporary slaughterhouse in order to control the crowd. He indicated that the municipality will coordinate with Kuwait Fire Service Directorate to construct sheds for the visitors to wait due to the high temperatures in the country.
Al-Otaibi revealed that the municipality will also coordinate with the Environment Public Authority and the health supervision authority to provide slaughterhouses with inspectors and cleaners, adding that every temporary slaughterhouse will also be provided with a veterinarian to inspect the animals before they are slaughtered. He said the municipality will issue temporary licenses to butchers appointed by the cooperative societies after they are subjected to medical checkups to ensure they are not carrying any diseases.
