Following the death of some teenagers who committed suicide after opting to play the ‘blue whale challenge’ on the Internet, major ISPs (internet service providers) say they can block the ‘blue whale challenge’, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting informed sources.

The last to commit suicide was a 15-year-old bedoun. However, the ISPs say they cannot block the game without a request from the authorities concerned, particularly the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology and the Department of Cyber Crime of the Ministry of Interior.

The ISPs noted they will not hesitate to implement any decision that serves the public interest and protects young people, but that must be in accordance with the legal frameworks in force in this regard.

It has been reported the Criminal Investigations Department is currently working to solve the mystery of this game which leads to suicide, especially after three cases happened in just one month.

It is believed that those who committed suicide were playing this game which includes 30 missions. A player is not allowed to quit and if someone tried to do so, the promoters of this game will blackmail the player through privacy information which the player has to provide during registration.
