Lu&Lu Hypermarket, the lifestyle shopping destination of choice for discerning customers in Kuwait, is set to launch a distinctive experience for food lovers in the country, with their 'Taste of the World' promotion from 23 April till 3 May.
The 11-day festival of good food, which will be inaugurated by renowned Indian Master Chef Ripudaman Handa, on 23 April at the Hypermarket's Al-Rai outlet, will feature cuisines and ingredients from around the world.
Ripudaman Handa's passion and love for cooking helped him win the 'Master Chef' title in the third season of 'Master Chef - Kitchen Ke Superstar' on Star plus channel. He was the youngest contestant on the show and won Rs.10 million prize, along with a chance to publish his own cookery book; a desire he had been harboring for long.
The promotion period will witness several competitions that will be held on different days at all outlets of Lu&Lu Hypermarket, including junior and senior chef contest, wow the Master Chef contest, chit-chat with Master Chef and a taste-and-win contest. In addition to a live-cooking demo that will be held every day at all three branches, the Al-Rai outlet will witness a special cookery competition that will start on 19 April.
During the Taste of the World festival, celebrity chefs in other cuisines, such as Arabic, Chinese, Continental, Filipino, Japanese, Indian, Italian and Thai, will demonstrate their cooking dexterity and the scrumptious magic they can conjure up using ingredients that range from the ordinary to the exotic.
The Taste of the World promotion period will also witness the creation, in association with Pizza Inn, of 'Longest Pizza in Kuwait' at 101 meters, as well as the making of a record, 20 meter long pasta. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to meet with Master Chef Handa and to have autographs signed by the chef.
