Tajikistan's Ambassador to Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov said Wednesday his country was looking forward for promotion of cultural relations with Kuwait. Zubaydov noted that Tajikistan enjoyed rich cultural, intellectual and folkloric heritage.
Speaking to KUNA, he said the Tajik Cultural Days would begin tomorrow under auspices of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, would include many cultural and artistic activities.
He said the cultural days were part of activities hosted by Kuwait which was named the Islamic Cultural Capital for 2016. The Tajik folkloric band would perform in Abdulhussein Abdulredha Theater and in the Avenues Mall, said Zubaydov. The Ambassador said photo exhibitions would be held in the exhibitions halls in Abdullah Al-Salem Area, as well as a fair for traditional Tajik costumes.
Zubaydov, Tajikistan's first Ambassador to Kuwait, said relations with Kuwait started in 1995, commending His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who he described as "wise and peace-loving." He hoped economic, trade and investment cooperation would be strengthened with Kuwait.
The Tajik cultural days are held in cooperation with the National Council for Art, Culture and Letters. They will run until 28 March.
