Members, officers and advisers of teachers Specialists Organization in Kuwait held its 3rd induction of officers and oath taking ceremony on Friday night at Swiss Belhotel in Kuwait City and graced by the Philippine Ambassador Renato Pedro Villa, Consul General Atty. Raul Dado, and Labor Attaché Atty. Cesar Chavez Jr.
The event commenced with the registration of its members and arrival of guests followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem guided by Elvira Lachica. Winie Blaza and Nader Sindatoc led the Islamic and Christian prayers. Honesto Doctolero Jr. and Hazel Lagundi introduced the guest speakers for the night.
In his speech, the Philippine Envoy reminisced about his teachers and how much they had influenced his educational upbringing. Ambassador Villa also lauded the teachers for their roles in the noblest of professions. He extended congratulations to the previous set of officers and the new inductees, and urged them to continue to foster the true spirit of educating the youth.
In addition, Labor Attaché Chavez briefly spoke on the current situation in the labor section and explained the various issues about amnesty. He also urged everyone to refrain from advising house helpers to run away from their employers should they encounter certain problems with their employers and instead, should seek the assistance of the labor section for resolution of the problems. Consul General Dado gave a brief inspirational message on the occasion. Plaques of appreciation and recognition were later given to the speakers, officers, organizers and the SPLBE-LET passers in 2015. Remy Bohol prepared the entertainment.
Among the highlights of the occasion were the formal induction ceremony of the new officers and oath taking officiated by the Philippine Ambassador. TSOK new set of officers are; Honesto Doctolero-President, Elvira Lachica-Vice President, Charmaine Arancon-Secretary, Vicente Zaurda-Treasurer, Winie Blaza-Business Manager, Hazel Lagundi-Public Relations Manager, Auditor-Remedios Estinoso and Advisers-Dahlia Pascual, Flora Acman, Erlinda Collado, Nourhaya Panick, Mary Grace Hizon, Robert Bradley. The event was hosted by GMA 7 News Correspondent to Kuwait and The Times journalist Ricky Laxa.
