Thrissur Association of Kuwait (TRASSK) conducted its 10th Anniversary celebration ‘Maholsavam 2016’, a cultural bonanza on 21 October at American International School Auditorium, in Maidan Hawally.
The mega event commenced with a presentation of Kerala’s traditional art forms such as ‘Panjavadhyam’ and ‘Thalam’ accompanied by guests, officials and members to the stage.
A condolences message was delivered by Biju Kadavi for the demise of the association member Mr. Sahirsha followed by a silent prayer. A remembrance was held for the great Indian soldiers who died during the recent terrorist attack.
The cultural meeting commenced with a prayer song. Indian Embassy Second Secretary A. K. Sreevastava, inaugurated the celebrations in the traditional way by lighting the lamp ‘Bhadradeepam’.
In his inaugural speech, second secretary praised the socio-cultural activities of TRASSK and appreciated the attendance of a large crowd, especially the members of TRASSK.
Mr. Sreevastava briefed the audience about the measures undertaken by the Embassy for the welfare of Indian community in Kuwait. TRASSK President Sebastian Vathukadan presided over the grand cultural meeting in the packed auditorium.
During his presidential speech, he expressed his sincere thanks to all those who strived in previous years’ for the formation of TRASSK and setting up its image. He requested members of the gathering to maintain the spirit of brotherhood through which their social commitments can be achieved.
General Secretary Ajay Kumar briefed the current and upcoming association activities. Marketing Manager of Al Mulla Exchange John Simon gave the felicitation speech and expressed their happiness for being part of the event.
Association Vice President and Program Convener Mr. Sughunanath welcomed the audience.
Felicitations were offered by Vanitha Vedi General Convener Ambika Mukundan, Social Welfare Convener Biju Kadavi and Kalikkalam Co ordinator Master Ronald Frank.
Treasurer Hari Kulangara proposed a vote of thanks.
TRASSK Media Convener Mr. Jeevaz released the Association’s Souvenir by handing over the first copy to Al Mulla exchange marketing manager Mr. Simon.
Top scorers of standard X and XII examinations were honored, and prizes were given by Joy C. Joseph, Venugopal Thayath, Murali Puthoor, Mr. Jayaram, Mr. Mohammed Rafi, Nayana Santhosh, Varghese Echarath, Bivin Thomas and Hari Kulangara. Association’s Velicham Scheme financial help was handed over to nominated members by Social welfare Convener Biju Kadavi , Social Welfare Joint Convener P. D. Paulose and Arts Convener Mr. Rajesh.
A token of appreciation was handed over to Association president from City Group CFO for supporting the idea of arranging a bus route from Fahaheel to airport.
The mega event ‘Maholsavam 2016’ was sponsored by Al Mulla Exchange and co-sponsored by NSH. Thereafter, series of cultural programmes staged to enchant the audience.
The audience was mesmerized by the rocking performance of 1st prize winners of TRASSK Kalolsavam 2016, and the various other entertainment including the welcome dance, cinematic dance and Naadan Paatu, Mimicri and ‘Nerampokku’ (One man show) by Rajesh Thamburu.
The leading music band in Kuwait ‘Crimson Rays’ was the highlight of the event, with the electrifying musical session led by famous playback singer Najeem Arshad, Vibin Xavier and Neethu Faizal (star singer fame).
