TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design), a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) will be holding their event on 24 March, at Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research, Shuwaikh, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today it covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.
Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world. It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. These events include screening of TED talk videos or a combination of live presenters and TED talk videos which spark deep conversation and connections at the local level.
This year's host is Abdullah Boftain and speakers will be Ali Hussain Al-Youha, Margaret and Hilal AlSayer, Catherine Silliman, Fatemah Al Mosawi and Balsam Al Ayoub.
