Student Art Competition ‘Celebrate # Canada150’ invites participants

Kuwait Times newspaper in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada in Kuwait under the patronage of Education Ministry is organizing a painting competition for students titled 'Celebrate #Canada150'. The idea is to have students in Kuwait learn more about different countries, cultures and civilizations, and to identify communities in other parts of the world through arts.  The theme for the Arts competition is Celebrate#Canada150 to encourage students to express their knowledge of Canada by drawing an icon, a natural scene, or any other expression they would find suitable for the above title.

The theme for the competition is 'Celebrate # Canada150'. Canada is a land of diversity - imagine the sparkling blue ocean, to the white snow-covered hills, and the lush green of the rainforest. People have moved from all countries of the world to make Canada their home. Students are encouraged to show us what they think of when they imagine Canada.

The contest aims to make students gain knowledge of the heritage, culture and civilization of other countries. The competition slogan motivates students to express their knowledge of Canada through art. Participants can draw touristic, environmental or civilization pieces or icons or symbols that reflect the competitions slogan. Canada is famous for its magnificent and beautiful places. It is one of the largest countries in the world with a unique geography, such as towering mountains, beautiful beaches, lush forests, green areas and wild and marine life.

Adnan Saad, Deputy General Manager of Kuwait Times newspaper said that more than 10,000 students participated in this art competition which is open to students of all levels of education, the goal of the competition that students express their feelings and their knowledge about the beautiful nature, progress and heritage cultural habits in the State of Canada through their drawings either watercolor or crayons or any material that enables them to creativity in drawing a picture for Canada. Saad invited all companies to sponsor this kind of activities due to the fact that they have responsibility for their community, he thanks all the sponsors for their support.
