In his address to the gathering, the Sri Lankan Ambassador highlighted the cordial and long-lasting relations between Kuwait and Sri Lanka since they began in 1971, and he hoped the cooperation between the two countries would continue to strengthen the ties.

“The Kuwait Fund remains a source of socio-economic development in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan migrant workers arrival in Kuwait remains steady despite the various challenges they often face,” he added.

Most importantly, he said, “Our Kuwait friends has found Sri Lanka as a tourist destination; we have seen an unprecedented arrival of tourists from Kuwait and these are signs that speak volumes of the ties between Kuwait and Sri Lanka. It is my hope that with the program chalked up this year, the relationship between Kuwait and Sri Lanka will flourish.”
