Sri Lanka’s 68th Independence Day celebrated in style

The Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Kuwait H.E. Kandeepan Balasubramaniam celebrated his country’s 68th Independence Anniversary at the Radisson Blu Hotel on 4 February. Minister of Public Works and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs H.E. Ali Saleh Al-Omair was the chief guest amongst a gathering of members of the diplomatic corps, Kuwaiti officials, Sri Lankan community members and the media.

A troupe flown in from Sri Lanka gave a dazzling performance to the audience’s delight. Guests were also treated to a traditional Sri Lankan dinner, allowing them a taste of the local cuisine as well as Sri Lankan hospitality.
