Kuwait is keen on organizing specialized exhibitions which contribute to promoting economy and tourism, and turning the country to a Gulf tourist hub, said Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah. Sheikh Salman, also Minister of State for Youth Affairs, made the statement on Saturday to reporters on the sidelines of inaugurating the Jewellery Arabia Kuwait exhibition organized by Bahrain's Arabian Exhibition Management for the first time since 25 years outside the Kingdom.
About 60 companies from 17 countries are taking part in the four-day event. Kuwait is a key destination of hosting specialized exhibitions as it is keen on opening its markets for brothers, he said. He expressed his hope that the exhibition would contribute to achieving the joint Gulf commercial and economic integration.
The minister lauded the Bahrain-Kuwait cooperation in several fields, noting that the exhibition will be an addition to all participating bodies and visitors.
Meanwhile, Bahrain's Ambassador to Kuwait Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Khalifa commended, in a statement, the brotherly relations between the two countries, stressing that Kuwait has a long history of commerce and civilization.
He voiced his happiness for organizing this joint exhibition for the first time outside the Kingdom. "Hosting this event in Kuwait under the wise political leadership is a source of pride," he said. He also praised keenness of Sheikh Salman on sponsoring the event that will contribute to making its success and excellence. The event includes some collections of leading designers and renowned global brands of jewellery and watch showcase.
