Specialized dental centers are excluded from the decision to increase health fees for expatriates, reports Al- Rai daily.

Meanwhile, the Environment Public Authority (EPA) has unveiled its plan to grant judicial arrest authority to the staff of Kuwait Municipality following the formation of joint teams which will be tasked to uncover violations in Spring camping sites, reports Al-Rai daily.

Director-General of the Municipality Eng Ahmad Al- Manfouhi warned that anyone who sets up Spring camps without obtaining approval and license from the Municipality shall be fined KD 5,000. Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Monitoring and Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Eid Al-Rashidi disclosed that emergency teams in the first half of 2017 issued 369 violations related to commercial fraud, most of which involved falsification of the country of origin of products, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The violations covered foodstuffs, makeup, perfumes, electrical appliances and clothing, he added, noting the ministry is all set to amend laws to intensify the penalty for the offense in order to fight commercial fraud. He pointed out that traders in question implement advanced methods to cheat consumers and the situation necessitates training courses for inspectors to guide them on the latest methods of cheating.

Al-Rashidi stressed the ministry has highly-proficient inspectors who conduct regular tour of the stores to check the quality of commodities. He also said the ministry takes seriously all complaints filed at the 21 centers that deal with issues in different parts of Kuwait, indicating the sector also receives complaints 24/7 via hotline 135. Assistant Undersecretary for Construction Projects Engineering Sector at the Ministry of Public Works Eng Ghalib Safouq has confirmed the start of preparations for handing over the new location of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs by the end of 2017.

He said the two ministries are currently coordinating their efforts to provide furniture for the new premises. He affirmed that Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa and Undersecretary Awatef Al-Ghunaim are closely following up the projects of the sector, considering their importance in reducing the expenses of the State in renting buildings for ministries.

He pointed out the design of the new location of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs reflects its objectives; revealing the new location consists of three buildings — the highest of which has 16 floors consisting of offices for employees and senior officials in addition to a separate mosque with a capacity of 3,000 persons. He said the new location is big enough for 1,000 employees; indicating the façade is designed according to the Islamic way and there is a theater that can accommodate 500 individuals.
