On the occasion of the 57th National and 27th Liberation Days of the State of Kuwait, I am pleased to convey to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, the Government and the people of Kuwait warmest greetings and sincere congratulations. As I commend the strong ties between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of South Africa based on the principles of mutual understanding, consultation and respect, I affirm the keenness of the governments of the two friendly countries to strengthen the excellent bonds of friendship and partnership for the benefit of both countries.

We commend His Highness the Amir for his excellent humanitarian endeavours and political wisdom. In this regard, we would like to congratulate His Highness and the People of Kuwait for the successful Iraq Reconstruction Conference that was recently held in Kuwait as well His Highness’s mediation efforts in the region. Furthermore, the State of Kuwait’s generosity to help distressed communities and countries is an example to us all, and being recognised as a Global Humanitarian Leader by the United Nations is a fitting tribute to His Highness, the government and the people of Kuwait.

Finally, we ask the Almighty God to safeguard the State of Kuwait and to bless it with peace and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
