Soorya Kuwait Chapter with UAE Exchange organizing Soorya India Festival 2014

In association with UAE Exchange, Soorya Kuwait Chapter shall be staging “Soorya India Festival 2014, on the evening of Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Indian Community School Auditorium (Sr.), Salmiya at 7.00 PM

His Excellency, the Indian Ambassador Sunil Jain will inaugurate the festival, aiming to promote International integration through culture.

This time Soorya is coming up with a mix of three oldest dance forms of India –a Bharatanatyam by Dakshina Vaidyanathan, one of the promising Bharatanatyam dancers today, a Mohiniyattam byAiswarya Warrier, a leading Mohinayattam exponent, an odissi by Arupa Gayatri Panda and Pravat Kumar Swain, leading duet odissi performers of the country. In addition, a solo fusion by Mridangam Maestro,
Kuzhalmannam Ramakrishnan.

Dakhsina Vaidyanathan, a young talented promising Bharatanatyam dancer and an innovative choreographer has enriched with the stamp of her own personality since her childhood. She has performed her dance in many stages both inside and outside the country.

Trained under accomplished Gurus’, Aiswarya Warrier has been noted as one of India’s top exponents of Bharatanatyam.

Her solo dance presentation titled ”SHAKUNTALA” projects twin messages of our life being integrally part of the rich natural environment and the potential power of a woman as an individual.

Duet performers of odissi dance Arupa Gayatri Panda and Pravat Kumar Swain have individuated themselves by passion for perfection, vibrant nritta and sophisticated senses of Abhinayam.

The Guinness world record holder for longest hand drum marathon Kuzahalmannam Ramakrishnan uses his skills in percussion as a catalyst for social change exalting peace and anti-violence.

His name is synonymous with Mridangam in the world of music.

“The art lovers of Kuwait will have a new experience with the above combination of dance and music which will amaze and enthrall all age groups”, according to officials. As usual, the entry will be strictly through invitations.
