Some 74 tenders worth KD 1.09 billion have been awarded during the second quarter of 2015, for both the government bodies and the oil sector projects, the Central Tenders Committee (CTC) has said. (1 KWD = USD 3.3) The estimated value of tenders is KD 978.78 million, the CTC added in a statement on Wednesday.
The CTC held 26 meetings during the second quarter to discuss topics related to offering tenders, applications and other related steps. According to the statement, nine tenders were awarded for projects in the oil sector with KD 787.12 million, compared to KD 303.24 million for 65 ones in the government bodies.
The Kuwait University had the highest value in the government sector, 7 awarded tenders worth KD 163.14 million, followed by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, one tender worth KD 46.57 million. The Ministry of Electricity and Water, was third with 11 tenders worth KD 25.57 million.
In the petroleum sector, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) came first with two awarded tenders worth KD 455.588 million, followed by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), six tenders worth KD 331.32 million. The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) followed in the third place with one tender valued at KD 204.093.
