Under the patronage of Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs in Kuwait, Sky News Arabia will mark the official launch of its new bureau in Kuwait City on 8 March, 2015.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Salman will deliver a keynote address that will be followed by a speech by Faisal Al-Qinai, Secretary General of Kuwait Journalists Association. The event will also be attended by Nart Bouran, Head of Sky News Arabia, as well as a number of Kuwaiti officials, ambassadors, thought leaders, and local, regional and international media representatives.
Commenting on the opening ceremony, Nart Bouran said: “Sky News Arabia’s new bureau in Kuwait will further strengthen our position in one of the most important Arab and international media markets. Our on-ground presence will allow us to deliver more comprehensive and in-depth coverage of important economic, cultural, political and social issues in Kuwait, a country that plays a significant role in defining the Arab media landscape.”
In a short span of time, Sky News Arabia has successfully established a wide media presence in the Arab world. In addition to its bureaus in London and Washington, DC, symbiotic relationships with Sky News’ international bureaus have also enhanced the channel’s offerings and contributed to its success in the region.
