In a recent press report by Dr. K. T. Rabeeullah, Chairman of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group, it was stated that Rs. 10 crores (KD 500,000/- approximate) will be set aside for charity activities by him over the span of next 3 years. As part of launching this initiative, Miss Krishnapriya was handed over Rs. 200,000/- through her father Subhash who are hailing from Kannur, Kerala for medical treatment of her spines, in a ceremony that took place at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Muscat, Oman.
Parallel to this, various charity activities such as honoring the most studious students, building homes for the homeless and more were launched in Calicut, Kerala which was followed by a Press Conference at Calicut Press Club, in Calicut city, India.
Miss. Ramseena, native of Ponani Marancheri, Kerala, who secured A+ in the recent Secondary School examination was given Rs. 360,000. Ramseena’s father has been finding it hard to make ends meet by selling toys on the street and festival grounds.
Also Vijitha Nouka hailing from a poor family in Azheekal, Kerala was handed over Rs. 100,000 to complete her studies. Vijitha also had secured A+ in all subjects in the Secondary school exam that was conducted recently.
In a similar move, Miss Aysha, a skilled Softball player of national level from Pookiparambu, Malappuram, Kerala, was handed over Rs 200,000 to enable her participate in the World Softball tournament that will be held in Taiwan soon. Aysha had knocked many doors but with no positive results, and had given up the hope of being part of the Indian National Women’s Soft ball team.
Mrs. Bindhu, native of Kochi, Kerala has been living in a plastic sheet - covered room with her two daughters and one son, and has been facing the toughest challenges of owning a home and supporting her children in their education. Shifa Al Jazeera Medical group has handed over Rs 100,000 as the first installment to Mrs. Bindhu as part of the continuous help for the next 5 years to support the family.
Mr. Raes hailing from Kannur Thilangeri had met with an accident few months before and had suffered serious injuries but without funds forthe medical treatment. His relatives were handed over Rs. 200.000 for completing Raes’s medical treatment.
