During the holy month of Ramadan, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, located in center of the Emirati capital, provides several religious, cultural, social, and philanthropic activities and services to worshipers, citizens and expatriates.

Among the charitable services, the grand mosque hosts the annual "Our Fasting Guests" project which distributes over 40,000 free breakfast meals to fasting worshippers inside air-conditioned tents spread around the mosque's courtyards.

There are currently around 12 tents, including two for women, where the food is distributed. The mosque also hosts a number of religious lectures as part of the "Wise Recitation" project with participation of a number of renowned Muslim clerics from around the world.

The "Ramadan Cannon" is also a main part of the grand mosque's events as a historic and social heritage of the Emirati society, in which a number of state and private institutions, ministries, and authorities, in addition to a large number of officials and volunteers take part in to provide services to fasting worshipers.

So far, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has accommodated around 347,895 worshippers during the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan this year.
