Kuwaiti fish prices have lately witnessed a sharp rise such that one kilogram of Zubaidi now costs KD 14.

This has led consumers to buy imported fish, which are being sold at prices much lesser than the prices set by Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the local fish, reports Arab Times daily.

Compared to the price of local Zubaidi, which is KD 14 per kilogram, the Iranian Zubaidi costs just KD 7.5 per kilogram. Local Hamour costs KD 5 per kilogram while the Iranian Hamour costs KD 3.5 per kilogram.

One kilogram of local Nagroor costs KD 4.5 but the imported Nagroor costs KD 2.5 per kilogram. One kilogram of local shrimps costs KD 6 but imported shrimps cost KD 3.5 per kilogram.

Local Subaiti fish costs KD 7 per kilogram while the imported Subaiti fish costs KD 4.5 per kilogram.
