Personnel from the Ministry of Interior have arrested seven members of the socalled sleeper cells in Kuwait on suspicion of planning to carry out terrorist attacks with the aim of destabilizing the security of the country and ignite sectarian strife, reports a local daily quoting sources. The sources explained the men, whose identities have not been disclosed, were arrested after investigations proved their affiliation to suspicious organizations.

The same sources said there is a presence of organized terrorist networks in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Kuwait, whose members belong to DAESH and have reportedly received a green signal from their leaders ‘abroad’ to carry out terrorist operations similar to the operation which was carried out recently in Saudi Arabia — a suicide attack on the Imam Ali mosque in Al-Qediah area which killed 21 people. Without giving further details, the daily said the men have been handed over for further interrogations.
