The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Mohammad Jafar refrained from sentencing a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of possessing cocaine and hashish and smuggling them into the country. The court obliged the citizen to sign a pledge of good conduct for two years and bail bond of KD 300.
According to the case file, a customs officer at Kuwait International Airport suspected the Kuwaiti citizen who had arrived from Netherlands and checked his luggage to find a jacket in which a small . sachet containing some chemical substance, suspected to be a drug, was discovered.
During the court session, the defense counsel Lawyer Inaam Haidar stressed that the report issued by the General Department for Criminal Investigations prove that the substance that her client was carrying is not banned in Kuwait, adding that her client is a student who had travelled for his studies.
