Seminar on Effective Parenting at Indian Educational School, Kuwait

Effective Parenting, a one day seminar organized by Bhavan’s Institute of Educational Research and Training (BIERAT) will be held at Indian Educational School, Kuwait on Saturday 22 March 2014. BIERAT, the research and training wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Middle East is the only institute empanelled by the CBSE to conduct training programmes for various stakeholders of CBSE schools in the Gulf region.

The seminar focusing on the art and science of parenting has been designed to provide insightful knowledge to parents with the objective of enhancing parent-child relationship and strengthening families. The speakers of the seminar are:

Mr. T. P. Sreenivasan I.F.S.
A former Ambassador of India, Mr. T. P. Sreenivasan is currently the Vice-Chairman and Executive Head of the Kerala State Higher Education Council.
As a career diplomat for 37 years he has held several important positions including that as Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Vienna,  Governor for India of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Ambassador to Austria and Slovenia and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Washington among many others.  Mr. Sreenivasan was a Visiting Fellow on Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution, Washington and has authored three books: ‘Words, Words, Words—Adventures in Diplomacy’, ‘Encounters’ and ‘Mattering to India-The Shashi Tharoor Campaign.’

Dr. J. Alexander I. A. S.
Dr. J. Alexander has made a niche for himself as an able administrator – in his career where he retired as Chief Secretary in Karnataka and entered electoral politics to become a minister. An M.A. in English from Kerala University and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Karnataka University, Dr Alexander was a lecturer in English in Quilon before he joined the IAS in 1963. Being a visionary strategist he is currently member of various government commissions. He is also on the Board of different universities representing the University Grants Commission. Dr. Alexander is an eloquent speaker for whom Parenting is a fascinating subject. 

Dr. Joseph Injodey
Dr Joseph Injodey, Principal, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Cochin is a widely recognized professional in the field of Psychiatric Social Work. An accomplished trainer and counsellor, he has offered various training programmes in India and abroad.
Attitude Engineering, Mentoring and Counseling are Dr. Injodey’s favourite areas. As a personality assessor, he is in the expert panel for employee selection in government agencies and various corporate houses.  He is a post graduate from Loyola College, Chennai and obtained his doctoral degree from Mahatama Gandhi University, Kottayam.

Mr. Alex Joseph
A research scholar, trainer and education administrator with an aptitude for Journalism and Public Relations. Prior to joining BIERAT, he was on the teaching faculty of Christ University (Bangalore) and Rajagiri College (Cochin) where he organized and facilitated varied training programmes for academicians across the educational spectrum.
Learning through networking is his passion and that motivated him to organize capacity-building programmes for diverse groups involving eminent personalities. He has attended and made presentations in numerous national and international conferences which deliberated on various aspects of education.
