Seven individuals from different nationalities were arrested by officers from Ahmadi Security Command for hawking, along with four others caught gambling and a liquor peddler in recent security operations conducted at Sabah Al- Ahmad City and Wafra stables. Security Chief of Ahmadi Brigadier Abdullah Sefah formed security teams to embark on impromptu campaigns at Sabah Al-Ahmad City and Wafra Stables, and they made the arrests.
The hawkers were caught selling foodstuffs, sweets and dates on the roadside. They were referred to concerned authorities after impounding their vehicles.
The four Asians who were caught gambling and another person in possession of 28 bottles of local liquor were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, security operatives from Farwaniya arrested three people for running a liquor factory inside their apartment at Reggae, and seized 179 bottles of readymade liquor. A security source said Farwaniya Security Chief Major General Fahad Al-Shuwae’ received a tip-off regarding illicit activities conducted at the suspicious location, and a team of detectives from Andalous police station struck at the right time and raided the apartment to arrest the suspects who had transformed the apartment to a liquor factory. They were referred with the contraband to concerned authorities for legal action.
