Schools shut down as heavy rains lash Kuwait
November 6, 2018, 7:47 am

Rain drenched various areas across Kuwait for last night and early morning today caused flooding in several main roads across the country.

The storm began raging in the early hours, with strong winds, heavy rain, recurring thunder and very low visibility. Many public places and roads have been swamped with water, as the authorities urged motorists to drive carefully.

Several public and private schools and educational institutions across the Kuwait announced Holiday for the school due to the bad weather. Goverment also tweeted all govenment offices and institutions closed today.

Meteorologist Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi said in remarks to KUNA on Monday that the unstable weather is due to aerial low pressure amid the seasonal Sudan depression, bringing with it humidity-rich winds, he pointed out. He pointed that weather throughout Kuwait is forecast to remain unsteady with active dust-triggering winds along with thundershowers.
