The Capital Security Directorate, in compliance with the instructions of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali, launched security campaigns in Sawaber, Murghab and Salhiya. These campaigns resulted in the arrest of 20 people; including four peddlers, three sellers of pornographic films, 12 expatriates with expired residential permits, and an Asian for the possession of local alcohol. All these people were referred to the concerned security authority for the necessary legal measures.
Meanwhile, security operatives attached to Jahra Command arrested three youths 16, 17 and 19 years old respectively for attacking police officers after they were caught driving in a reckless manner and engaging in gambling. The youths stoned the officers and resisted arrest before the officers finally overpowered them and impounded their cars. They were referred to the concerned authority for legal measures. In other news, officers from the Operations Department impounded 12 cars used by some youths for stunting and gambling, and issued 50 traffic citations during the operation.
