STECI concludes Golden Jubilee Ceremony

Yearlong Golden jubilee celebration of St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India - Kuwait Parish has officially concluded in a splendid closing ceremony on 29 September at NECK, Church and Parish hall. The celebrations commenced with a warm welcome by the Parish Secretary Boney K Abraham.

The public meeting which was chaired by the Parish Vicar and KECF President: Saji Abraham, was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Bishop and Chairman of Pradhinidhisabha of St. Thomas Evangelical Church Of India, Rt. Rev. Dr.Th omas Abraham Rev. Georgie Varghese (Vicar- Kuwait City Mar Thomas Church) commenced with the prayer and KECEF Vice President Rev. Abey Paul, St. Thomas Marthoma Vicar Bobby Mathew, St Paul CSI Vicar Rev. C.C. Sabu, St. Peters Kanaya Vicar Father kochumon Thomas, NECK Administrator K.P. Kosy, NECK-Common council Secretary Roy Yohannan, KTMCC President, Mathew Daniel, Brethren Assembly representative Bro. Goldy Philip and many others felicitated the Church on its Jubilee day.

The Golden Jubilee Annual report was presented by Thomas Varghese and Jubilee Project Convener Mr. George Varghese expounded on the undertakings of the Jubilee projects along with a visual presentation.

A Souvenir commemorating the Golden Jubilee of St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India was released by Bishop Dr. Thomas Abraham and the first copy was handed over to NECK Administrator K.P. Koshy. A. George Cherian, the Souvenir Convener, also took time to thank all those who had endeavoured to bring the souvenir into Light.

The 1st Resident Vicar, Rev. P.M. Joseph, along with the Founder Member T. John Mathews were honoured in the meeting for their valuable service.

Along with them, around 16 senior members (with their spouses) who have nurtured this parish throughout the years were honoured with a memento for their contributions.

M. Thomas John gave a thanking note representing the seniors for this kind gesture. The Program Convener, George Cherian delivered the thanking note to all the guest and those who laboured to make the closing ceremony, a blessing. The whole event was blessed by the presence of respected Vicars and leaders of different Church congregation in Kuwait.
